9/11
Self-explanatory. This was the most horrible terrorist even in the world's history. (there are still many conspiracy theories that Bush had something to do with 9/11)

One for you kids that sleep in History class:
The Trail of Tears (1830-1835)
The Trail of Tears was one of the most awful events in the United States history (next to slavery).
In 1830, U.S President Andrew Jackson signed the law "The Indian Removal Act". This act went through court and was overruled, yet Jackson ignored the Supreme Court's order and passed it anyway. This act removed the five civilized tribes: Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole from Georgia, parts of Alabama, and Tennesse. All of these tribes were forced to move west, leave their homes, carry what they could, and set out on the "Trail of Tears". (Oklahoma mainly)
[PS] I've got some Creek/Choctaw Indian blood in me. 😎

Hurricane Katrina (2006)
Hurricane that hit New Orleans, Louisiana in 2006. This hurricane caused the most destruction in U.S hurricane history. New Orleans and many other cities in Louisiana are still cleaning up destruction from Katrina.

Uruguayan rugby players who survived 72 days alone in the Andes in 1972.
The survivors, more than four thousand meters above sea level, were surrounded by corpses, had nothing to eat or how to take cover. mountain, the temperature varied widely, was always close to 30 degrees below zero.
The survivors had no choice but to feed off of dead comrades, until two young men in the group managed to cross the mountains on foot and ask for help.

Grigori Rasputin, a man impossible to kill. Ate poisoned cakes, took 11 shots, was neutered and kept alive. Only when he was beaten unconscious and thrown into the Neva River, he died, but not for the injuries, but drowned (he apparently still alive after the injury).
