Maybe it depends on how you launch it? In portrait or landscape mode?

I am using landscape mode on a iPad 11 A16, this only happens when the game is launched as a home screen web app (PWA). It might be a viewport or canvas resize issue on iPad Safari where the game reads the wrong screen size on startup in landscape mode. It only fixes itself after restarting the app several times (around 5–7 restarts). This is very likely a PWA viewport bug rather than an iPad issue.

my guess: the game thinks the screen is shorter, so it adds black bars at the top and bottom. When reopening the app several times, the game recalculates the resolution correctly and becomes fullscreen again. It would be great if this could be fixed. Thank you.

Maybe the game reads the wrong viewport size when launching from the home screen on ipad. If the viewport detection is fixed, the game should start in fullscreen. The correct viewport on my ipad is around 1194 x 834

The auth token is not saved in the iPad PWA, so I always have to re-enter my email and password every time I log in. Could this be fixed as well? Thank you!

Will this be fixed? I have to restart the pwa like 100 times to get the correct resolution

The game does not handle resize so probably there is a bug in Safari which reports wrong screen size on launch, i.e. it reports screen size as if there is a taskbar and then "switches" into fullscreen mode and reports fullscreen later, but in this case it's too late since the game already got wrong dimensions.

Pay attention, it is possible that big screen is when you launch the game and it downloads some data (progress-bar), while small screen is when the game is cached and jumps past download progress-bar straight into white loading screen with text?

No, in my case it does not seem related to the download/progress bar or cache state. The issue appears randomly and instant when I start the game and the game stays in the wrong size for the whole session once launched that way.

Restarting the PWA multiple times makes it launch with the correct fullscreen resolution, but you never know how many restarts it will take until it works properly.

When launching Gunrox through www.enkord.com/game/gunrox in the browser directly, this issue does not happen. It only starts happening after installing the game to the home screen. I’m not sure if Safari is causing it, but I also tested it in Opera and the same thing happens there. The home screen installation somehow triggers the bug. I also don’t think this is caused by iPadOS itself, because this bug is new, it never happened in previous years
