Yes it's true, Dew has changed his miner account.
However, speaking as someone who knows mining, I must say that going full mining, it is too great of a risk to get close enough to do a double mine combo. While the rewards are great, too often i find myself taking serious hits before i can get close enough. I therefore conclude that the mining spec is "balanced" at best, but still not as good as health, so i redid both my "furrys".
At least if I had a shotgun, I can hit from some cells away, and with melee the stun is very nice indeed. These options simply serve better when playing "last unit x last unit".
Has anyone mentioned on this thread yet how USELESS mines are in megas, or even 2x2s if your partner doesn't know what he is doing?

Good point Dew. Mega's mines are pretty much useless. So going along the lines of this post...☺ (sorry if i'm terribly sarcastic here) I think all long range guns should be nerfed and that an advantage be given to those who stay in one place. Because clearly, short range fighers are at a disadvantage here...and its all about balance right? After all...you can't launch a mine.😝
Snipers shouldn't be able to reach me from 21 cells away and assulters from 16! ☺
Ok i'm joking but really, i think we too easily get on a path of "that's unfair" from only a few experiences. Someone comes up with a good play style...nerf it!...why?...because it beat you? Yeah, probably. ☺

Well Noto, like i said before, i HATE camping, hence the reason why i was SOO upset during and after that fight. But as you could see, when we started i RUSHED, because im an Assulter, and i DID not say anything about traps being overpowered, if anything, i think Nades are overpowered, and i have a Nader. All i am saying to RedGaurdian is MY OPINION, and he is acting like all i do is camp. No Red i camp maybe 1 game in like 3 months, and ONLY against opponents like NOTO where i KNOW if i move 1 ap i die.... other Miners i dont fear, because Noto is an origanal like me, and knows how to play and how to devestate an entire party just with 1 man. Red, I've backed your arguments a bit because i tend to agree with some of your points about camping (letting opponent come to you - and in general...shooting less and taking cover). It's a play style and shouldn't be held at a disadvantage. But i will also agree that you can't just go dismissing lvl 30s opinions...they DO know thier stuff. Especially the aforementioned.
The Originals...I like that Madd...one day THAT would be a cool clan...members who have forged this game from day one. ☺

Mines and nades are overpowered, but that is a good topic for another thread. This thread is about what could be done to improve the game and make moving around a bit better option, REGARDLESS OF WEAPON TYPE USED, thus making games last a bit less in average, and indirectly lead to more shopping. Games that last many hours are, in my opinion, bad thing, especially if its just 1v1 because you cant do anything between your turns without taking a risk.

Got it Late, I understand the reason for your post. And though i disagree with there needing to be "balance" for the "movers vs campers", I DO agree that there needs to be more elements to the game to mix it up a bit. (I still wish "objectives" could be introduced down the road - but thats for another thread as well haha)
Sorry about getting off on Mines...it just started as an example. There are actually quite a few threads that are similar to this, talking about the need for more incentive to move around the map. (Mission objectives, bonus cash in boxes, other play formats such as capture the flag) All of these and more have been suggested.
But you need to realize that some maps, because they are random, make camping a nessecery tactic depending on your specs. Generally, low HP, long range dps, if given adequate cover, will not be apt to veture into an open field. I would think this should be totally acceptable. That's all I was trying to get across.
It sounded like you wanted to give a penalty to someone behind a bush for 6 turns, or an award to someone moving around the board...I just don't see how that's fair, other then what's already been mentioned with credit and items from opening boxes...

Noto you may be right the answer is just getting the objectives working. Even the badly working king of the hill is much better than nothing. I just wish I could play it in any map. Imagine noobist beach with koth setting, that'd be crazy fun ^^

Late, i noticed you mentioned that grenades and mines are OP. May I point out that berserker has added a nice line of options for these 2 just recently... The other guns may soon come out with other options, it is hard to keep the entire game balanced while he is making these addons as we go. So, I am suspecting a gun option for all gun types for the level 10, 30, 50, 70... Will you then call these types overpowered when he releases them?

It does not matter how many miners are out there. What really matters if it's game breaking feature or not. And it is. Take a look at champions of the last tournament - miners and grenadiers. Astor is ok with that because grenadiers and miners spend a lot of cash per single battle, but I am not. I am trying to make the game ballanced and fair. Mines are very safe way to make damage and they never was meant to be main skill. They are more like medikits. You are not expecting to kill someone with medikits, don't you?

I'm sorry but you are WAY messed up on that thinking. But you go ahead and change it. I guess we will see.
Obviously i support the mods and the designers of this game, and give them great respect, but wow, that will be a sad call if mine planting becomes a 10ap process. You talk about "in advance" as if there is endless time before running into your opponent. That's not the case.

Last mine does 250-300 damage. Do you expect it to cost 1 AP? It will be 9 AP (7 if you take perks). Other mines will cost less of course.

There will always be an issue of cashers having an advantage over non-cashers, simply because we have access to purchase anything we need. I'm not sure if you are trying to balance the game in the favor of the non-cashers by making the non-casher ways more powerful (nerfing grenades and mines boosts non-casher paths). But, non-cashers will never be satisfied, as they shouldn't be... until they make a deposit.

Sorry Berserker, thankfully on most posts I agree with you more often then not, but here, I disagree again. FULL HP perks easily counter granade and mines. My prediction is this...for right now, a nerf to mines and granades will "feel right" in order to balance the game, but about the time people start hitting lvl 40-50, they will ALL have some HP perks, and suddenly, the limited amount of mine and granade dmg that can be done (depending on how bad you nerf nades) will make it an unplayable spec.
An added prediction...the nerf bat will then turn to the HP spec. ☺ As it too is OP at lvl 40. ☺
So yah, i guess we will see...
