Back Again
So, I played in the beta released version of Gunrox (back when there was ONLY 1 ZONE), and now I have come back to see if the game has improved any. As far as the game itself is concerned, the game has improved immensely.
Unfortunately, the first battle that I undertook, another player accused me of trying to "disconnect" him, and despite this, he defeated me because I am such a "noob". Then he was quite abusive towards me, calling me stupid.
My fealings aren't hurt - there are plenty of jerks in the world who you have to deal with. The problem is, throughtout the entire day, I ran into jerk after jerk after jerk. Is this game just infested with them?
Then I ran into another problem. In the 3rd round of turns the player who started the game suddenly aborted the game, without anyone's permission - I was under the assumption that you have to have everyone (or at least a majority) in order to abort the game.
Then I ran into yet another problem. Seems a player, acting in coordination with the players on the other team, started a game with me in it, then the player on my team trapped me in a corner, while the enemy player's came in and killed all of us (killbox style).
The only thing that is really wrong with the game, as far as I can tell, is people are taking serious advantage of the "you can't see my equipment if it's not equiped" problem. Everyone is saying: "Naked, naked, naked." But in fact they have metal armor, m16 assault rifles, etc hiding underneath it all. As a player who just got back and has almost no equipment at all when I stopped a year ago, this is really stupid - level 4s are destroying me utterly (I'm level 9 now) because of the equipment they bring along with them - having nothing to do with actuall skill or tactics.

Welcome back Akdragoon! Unfortunately, the bulk of the lower level players are of the Brazilian culture and/or of a young audience with no cash. I assume that what is normal for them isn't "normal" for the rest of us. Once you hit level 10 and beyond, the group tends to mature and play some real fun games ☺
Again with the Spying and Fake fighting issues... One of the best and worst features about this game is its freedom to play whenever and however you want. And it offers multiplayer coop play, but not without it's downside. I recommend for you to play some 1x1 until you reach level 10 and beyond, or maybe strictly group with your new friends you've met in game...
Lastly, declaring a "naked" fight is the oldest trick in the book. I suggest you simply assume all players are playing equipped and therefore you won't frustrate yourself with that issue.
This game has made some tremendous strides since you have been gone, and it is still being extensively worked on each week. I am excited for you and your future adventures in Gunrox. Good luck and fight well 😁

Sadly the culture in this game is very bad, as you point out. I would say 60% are hopeless, but yes it does get a bit better when you reach higher levels.
Disappointing that a great game has bad players, but what can you do, it is the internetzzzzz.

Welcome back! Actually I DO remember you, you were one of the first players in early beta days! (Back then I was able to memorize each player 😁) If I remember correcly first of your two letters stand for Alaska 😳
Speaking about your experiece... we have a lot of kids now (like probably any online game) and it shows. Indeed try to paly 1x1 until you will find proven friends and then switch to team matches.

Before the battle started, we told you guys we were naked - we wasn't. We lied, to get the easy, "cheep", win. I know it isn't that big of a deal, but I just feel bad that I lied to a somewhat "famous" player that has been around for a long time. I guess I speak for my teammates, when I say I'm sorry. 😳

i would like to ask a question here since it relates to this topic. how come you allow players to hide their weapons like this, why not make it so the primary weapon is shown + armour? now i know they could still hide good weapons as second weapon, but wouldnt it cut alot of the problems out of the game, like people saying they are armed and really not, if you had to show something, and if you didnt show armour you had to find armour in game to play with? i mean it would be a simple change to the game but yet a great improvement in cutting out 1 of these many problems mentioned above. just my thoughts, anyone else have any?

We allow hiding of weapons so that you don't reveal your strategy or build so early in the game. When fighting a new player, you must discover 😁

I know that this is a "no", but I still think it should show how much "Bonus Experience" your opponent has. 😎 Just saying... Then you could have a little hint of how much your foe is armed, but not know his weapons. Especially your teammates, cause half the time they lie about being armed, lol. That's why I only go in team battles with my clan mates now. 😁

Well, thanks for the welcome back.
Yes. AK stands for Alaska (where I live) not the ak in AK47, but I guess in the Gunrox world, it might as well.
The only issue with it is that I see lots of kids who play "like adults". Because of this issue (as it is with almost ALL online games), they get to "talk trash" and just be jerks to everyone without consequences. The real issue becomes does a player have the right to steal all of your hard-earned artifacts because his weapons all cause you to drop them...
