View Full Version : game types and availability
The maps need objectives. Objectives make the game more interesting, as you can win in more ways than one, and effectively make the map smaller, because everyone knows where the "hotspot" will be.
Currently there is only king of the hill and its only available in one area, both of which I feel are bad things. There should be more gametypes available, and you should be able to play them in more places than one. King of the hill should be easy to include to memorial as well, which would make it a much better 1v1 map (as its a bit too large now).

i think, that gunrox need more players rather then gametypes.. if gametypes were added before big online than count of started games may decreased, i think so :)

Why? You offer no reasons why the player amount would drop.
I believe, that if there were more gametypes, it would make the game more interesting, and so make the game have more players. Compare for example to any popular fps game, like Call Of Duty, you have loads of different game modes (http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty_4:_Modern_Warfare#Game_Modes). They all arent popular, but it doesnt make the game less popular for having more gametypes. It means more people will find a game mode they like. I love headquarters and I think its the best game mode ever invented but I still play other game types too if no hq games are available.

You compare big budget multi-million-dollar marketed game like Call of Duty to a small indie boutique MMO like GUNROX which is wrong IMO :) We will work on improving online player count and it will grow eventually (actually it is growing slowly but steadily).

cause of one player may want to play mode1, second player may want to play mode2 (and so on..) and both players will create different games and both will wait for opponents, instead of play mode0 between player1 and player2 and growing up :)
i often find myself in a situation where i can't start the game because of the lack of opponents. just imagine what happens, when created games count will grow (different types) without players increasing.

I'm not comparing them, I'm saying you could look there to get examples of different gametypes and how they are done. You don't have to invent the wheel again, the same game modes are used in so many games already so just adapt some ones to your use. Some of the gametypes require respawning to work well, I don't know if that is a problem.

Yeah my point is that you play "mode0" too many times and you don't think the game is interesting anymore. In my example they could play once the mode player1 wants and then once the mode player2 likes, everyone happy.

This is why objectives would be nice. My opponent just ran from me all the time. unbelievable boring game.
