Got a question for the mods or whoever understands how damage reduction works.

So basically, lets say I take 10 damage resistance perks. that's 30% damage resistance.
Now, I'm wearing a 10% armor. So basically, is my total damage reduction is now 40%?

Another scenario: Lets say I have 3 ap left and I have shell, which is if I remember correctly, 4% per ap.

So, will my total damage reduction come down to 52?(40+3x4).

Any answer is appreciated.

You're right on the money in my words. BTW, if you do have Damage Resistance x10, definitely invest in the Shelter perk, it'll make you very resistant to damage. Just note that there is some randomness to the resistance formula, it's not concrete.

This randomness worries me. Do you mean that lets say, I have 10Xresistance, but only 21% might be activated in one of the hits, then 25% on the next, and so?

In my opinion it's not really worth taking unless I get the full 30% reduction each hit.

The randomness isn't that severe, it's only more like a range of 5% from what I've seen.

Well, 5% randomness should also mean it can go higher, right?:o(I'm not holding my breath).

May i ask a follow up question to Eternity's?

So if the total calculated Dmg resistance is 50%, and someone is shooting you with wep dmg range of 50-100 (forget any of his bonuses to crit chance or gun points for this example). Does that mean that if he doesn't crit, my potential dmg is: 25-50?...plus or minus 5%? :)

I'm just curious how easily this is calculated.

Another follow up to notorious question: am I correct to assume that when I have no ap left, there wont be any of that blue shield thing appearing when hit?(even with the regular 10xdamage reduction).

Shield will appear only if you have some ap left and have additional damage resistance from turtle or shelter. But basic damage resistace will work in any case.
