I think scheduled clan or team battles is a great thing also! I also suggested using the same scheduler engine (for 1v1 tournaments) to schedule clan fames or, in this case, team competition.
The ability to SCHEDULE the fights is important. This allows for people to make arrangements from their personal time to come and fight.
--- Example: if everyone works (like me) or goes to school, they would need to know how many can show up and at what time. It's hard for people to just log on and then hope their clan mates are on and then hope that there is opponent.
Organized team fights adds a new experience and gets more people to play at the same time :)

Bers,
Let me begin by saying I am grateful that someone who is so busy as yourself and who has supervision over several gaming platforms and communities is able to get directly involved with discussions at our level, the level of the every day user. It is commendable.
However, if I may give you feedback about my reaction to your last comment, here it is...
Maybe it's your use of few words but I found your response to be a bit inconsiderate, almost cold, towards the recommendations of your users.
A good leader (especially owner of a for profit business) would begin my praising the ideas and then, if he felt a need to leave these people with answers to their questions, explain why there may not be a team tournament.
To simply say there will be "no team tournaments" is defeating.
If you plan on growing the use of your game, forums, and growing a community where people may directly contribute to your growth (& financial benefit of your company) you need to reconsider your approach.
In truth.

People wanted more tournaments, there was a auto tournament setup. HAs its flaws but its ever present and working.
People complained that the old clan system was BS because it was based on only activity and not actual clan strength. New system was implemented to include clan strength in the process - also has its flaws but provides quite well.
I'd bother changing there is that when you play vs clans from higher tier than your own there should also be a bonus like when playing clans in your own tier (assuming the higher tier clans are stronger).
What you ask is a Moderator organized and supervised clan elimination tournament. unlike the automated systems they require "work" from the organizers. Those are up to them to devote their time to, because its not as simple to do as it sounds.

I couldn't help but laugh when reading this. Didn't you look at forum much before? that'ss your typical "berserker response" the classic "its the way it is, take it or leave it".
If you want serious response you need to either hit the jackpot by suggesting what they already thought about doing, or post it in Russian on the "russian forums" (and even than be one of the "cool kids" to get any sort of serious response)... This is one of the most aggravating aspects of gunrox for me.

ranger01,
Unfortunately as you mentioned, supervising several projects and communities consumes a lot of time and leaves no time for bells and whistles.
Hereby I grant you the right to interpret and explain my short and cold words intoo something warmer and more amusing :p

Thanks Bers! That was funny, actually.
No real skin off of my back :) When I plateau I will simply move on to other things like many have I'm sure.
I see that this game has enough appeal for me and ther few hundred regulars who use it. The game has the potential to grow even larger... with the right ingenuity.
Frankly, I make over $100k a year in earned salary and consulting... and I am in the business of relating to people regularly. How I handle people and the quality of my product/work determines how much I make each year :) And, I improve what I deliver based on feedback from my clients.
We are the same in this regard. To some degree.
Enkord (Gunrox in particular) is your business and how you handle your operations and your communication is really up to you. It won't affect how I live but it will affect how you grow and thrive or just fade away as a business.
If people see the attitude (of the owner) as "take it or leave it" then I must say that the turn-off may have long-term consequences.
I want this game to succeed by growing and generating revenue.
However, the beauty of technology is that it is replicable. Anyone with enough money and duplicate anything, and maybe even make it better.
What is hard to duplicate or copy is the sense of community that relationships hold together. And you, Bers, as the alpha--- people, including me, look to a product that gives us what we want and more. And the only way to do that is to add to it by improving the _community_ and the features. Ultimately it's the community and how they perceive themselves (as having value or not) that will sustain this business.
Gunrox is awesome. I hope you take it to great heights :)
