Once you get the hang of the basics, these tips can really get you going to the higher levels quickly and boost your winning percentage!
If you are hit and you aren't sure where they're coming from, pay very close attention to the "hit" flash below the player... it will provide a little hint as to their whereabouts.
SPECIALIZE your units for certain weapons! Your units get better equipment faster if you pick one or two weapon classes instead of being an "all-around" character!
Use your artifacts wisely. They're powerful, but attention grabbing to the enemy eyes! The LAST thing you want to have happen is for the enemy to use YOUR artifact weapon against you!!
Learn each weapon's strengths and vulnerabilities. Shotguns pulverize foes at close range, but range is a big issue. A great way to make up for that is to use an assault rifle or even an SMG to use for the farther out targets.
Watch your perk choices. Don't let a new perk steer you off your unit's purpose! The weapon mastery perks are a good choice if you need to increase your weapon strength just a little more, but the starting perks can get ridiculously powerful when picked repeatedly (In fact, many of the best perks require a lot of the earlier perks being picked at least 5 times)!
